Your love story deserves a ceremony as unique as you are

The moment you exchange vows should feel completely, authentically yours—filled with laughter, maybe a few happy tears, meaningful traditions, and words that actually sound like you. Not someone else's script with your names inserted. Not a rushed, impersonal service. Something real.

That's what I create: warm, personal wedding ceremonies that tell your story, honour what matters to you, and give you the freedom to celebrate exactly your way.

Why work with me?

As an independent celebrant, I'm not bound by registry office restrictions or religious requirements. This means:

  • Icon_ver_white

    Complete freedom of location

Marry in a rustic barn with your guests staying over. Exchange vows in a woodland clearing surrounded by ancient trees. Celebrate in your favourite pub's beer garden. Say "I do" on a hilltop overlooking the valleys. If it's meaningful to you, we can make it happen.

  • Icon_ver_white

    Your ceremony, your way

Include your dog as ring bearer. Write your vows as heartfelt promises or funny memories. Incorporate handfasting, jumping the besom, or rituals from your cultural heritage. Add live music, readings from favourite books, or moments that involve your guests. There are no rules—only possibilities.

  • Icon_ver_white

    Truly personal

This isn't a template service. Every ceremony I write is built from scratch, based on your relationship, your values, and your vision. I'll get to know you both through thoughtful questions and genuine conversation, then craft a ceremony that sounds like you and feels like home.

  • Icon_ver_white

    Relaxed and meaningful

My style is warm, genuine, and laid-back—but never at the expense of meaning. Your ceremony will feel comfortable and natural while still holding the significance and beauty this moment deserves.

Who I love working with

You might be the couple who:

  • Has been together for years, maybe started as friends before falling in love
  • Wants something personal and quirky with some traditional touches mixed in
  • Values connection with family and friends over formality and fuss
  • Appreciates locally sourced suppliers and authentic, natural aesthetics
  • Loves the idea of a barn wedding, outdoor celebration, or intimate gathering
  • Wants to include your pets in the proceedings
  • Appreciates craft, authenticity, and meaningful details
  • Wants guests to leave saying, "That was so them"

If you're nodding along, we're probably a great fit.

How we'll create your ceremony together

  • Icon_ver_white

    1. Initial consultation

We'll meet for a coffee, video call, or phone conversation to get to know each other. This is your chance to share your vision, ask questions, and make sure we're a good fit. No pressure, no obligation—just a friendly chat about your plans.

  • Icon_ver_white

    2. Planning and storytelling

Once you've booked, I'll send you a detailed questionnaire that helps me understand your relationship, your values, and what you want from your ceremony. Don't worry—it's actually quite fun! Most couples enjoy reminiscing about how they met, their favourite memories together, and what they love about each other.

  • Icon_ver_white

    3. Crafting your script

I'll take everything you've shared and weave it into a bespoke ceremony script. You'll receive a draft to review, and we'll refine it together until it's perfect. Nothing goes into your ceremony without your approval.

  • Icon_ver_white

    4. The big day

I'll arrive early to coordinate with your venue and suppliers, ensure everyone knows the plan, and then deliver your ceremony with warmth, confidence, and joy. My goal is for you to feel completely present and relaxed, knowing everything's in capable hands.

    5. Afterwards

You'll receive digital copies of your ceremony script, and I'll always be here if you want to mark future anniversaries or milestones together.

Symbolic rituals and special touches

  • Icon_ver_color

    Handfasting

This ancient Celtic tradition involves binding your hands together with cord or ribbon, symbolising your union. It's beautiful, meaningful, and makes for stunning photographs.

  • cropped-Favicon.png

    Jumping the Besom

Another Welsh tradition where couples literally jump over a broomstick together, symbolising the threshold of your new life as a married couple. It's joyful, unexpected, and gets your guests cheering!

  • cropped-Favicon.png

    Ring Warming

Before you exchange rings, they're passed among your guests who hold them and offer silent blessings or good wishes. By the time the rings reach you, they carry the love of everyone present.

  • cropped-Favicon.png

    Unity Candle

Light a candle together, symbolising two lives joining as one. You can involve parents or children in this ritual too, making it particularly meaningful for blended families.

  • cropped-Favicon.png

    Personal vows

Write your own promises from the heart, or we can craft vows together that feel authentic to you. No pressure to be poets—just genuine words about your commitment to each other.

Beautiful locations across South Wales

I work throughout South East Wales and the surrounding areas, including:

  • Monmouthshire (Abergavenny, Monmouth, Usk, Chepstow)
  • Torfaen (Cwmbran and surrounding villages)
  • Newport and the Vale of Glamorgan
  • Blaenau Gwent
  • Forest of Dean and Wye Valley
  • Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons)

This region offers incredible ceremony settings: rustic barns, elegant country houses, historic venues, woodland glades, riverside spots, and intimate spaces. I love working at independent and smaller venues where the focus is on personal service and authentic character.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to have a legal ceremony separately?

In Wales and England, independent celebrants can't currently conduct legally binding ceremonies (unlike in Scotland). This means you'll need to complete your legal paperwork at a registry office separately—usually a simple signing ceremony with two witnesses that takes about ten minutes. Most couples do this a few days before or after their celebrant ceremony. The legal bit is administrative; the ceremony with me is where you actually get married in the eyes of your loved ones.

Can we include religious elements?
What if it rains?
How long does the ceremony last?
When should we book?

What people say

I'm building my collection of wedding testimonials, but my training mentor Rosalind Miles said something that captures my approach:

That's exactly what I'll bring to your ceremony: attention to detail, emotional connection, and words that honour your unique love story.
